Sophia Herbig is a violinist from Munich. Her orchestral work has taken her to orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orkest, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra,  Munich Philharmonic,  Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Spira Mirabilis. Since October 2019 she has been engaged as  principal second violin with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg. As a soloist she has performed violin concertos by Brahms, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Mozart, Khatchaturian and Vivaldi under the baton of the conductors Yoel Gamzou, Reinhard Goebel, Ulrich Weder and Stefan Schilli in concert halls such as the Herkulessaal and the Philharmonie in Munich and the chamber music hall of  the Philharmonie Berlin. Sophia studied with Igor Ozim and Wonji Kim-Ozim (2007-2015) and since 2015 in the class of Rainer Schmidt at the Mozarteum Salzburg. Furthermore, she was a scholarship holder of the Orchestra Academy of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra 2017-2019. In addition to her studies, she received musical impulses by Tanja Becker-Bender, Ivry Gitlis, Leonidas Kavakos, Ferenc Rados, Imre Rohmann and Benjamin Schmid among others.
